These are some of the regular bad dog behavior problems that you are likely to encounter:

Barking

All dogs bark (unless of course his vocal chords are defective). However, yours may bark excessively. You need to ascertain the reason for this bad dog behavior by analyzing why your dog is barking. He may be doing this due to being over excited or due to the fact that he is not getting enough time from you. He may be stressed or overtly bored. Try and find why he is barking more than required and then tackle accordingly.

Chewing

This again is very normal dog behavior. However if your dog chews everything in sight and cannot live without doing so, you can be sure that this is a bad dog behavior problem.  In case he is teething, you can provide a chewable toy to reduce the destruction around your home. It may well also be that he is indulging in excessive chewing due to the fact that he is being limited in the amount of exercise that is allowed. Or he may be plain and simple bored and looking for additional activity. Give him chewable objects to keep busy and prompt him not to whenever he chews on any other object.

Digging

Digging can also be attributed to bad dog behavior. This in the case of some breeds is due to their genetic build. Again this may be due to lack of exercise, having nothing better to indulge in or being stressed. It also may be a case of your dog wanting to hide his bones or then to tunnel his way out of your backyard! Try giving him a sandbox and work on rectifying the root cause of the problem instead of just getting him to stop digging.

Anxiety Separation

This is one of the most common bad dog behavior problems. Your dog stresses when you are about to leave him. Immediately after that he displays separation traits like biting and pulling objects and peeing or pooping in the house. He feels uncomfortable without your presence at all times. If this is the case, you need to train him to be able to exist without your being around.

Peeing and Pooping

Another bad dog behavior trait is peeing and pooping all over your home. This kind of behavior is irritating more than anything else as you have to clean up your home or public area where your dog chooses to defecate. Try and determine the cause again. This may be happening due to territorial instincts, stress and anxiety or lack of house breaking training.

You should act immediately on observing these characteristics so that all bad dog behavior is eliminated as soon as possible.
